Anna Ella Carroll
Born: August 29 1815 - Pokomoke City, Maryland
Died: February 19 1894 - Washington, D.C
At the outbreak of the Civil War, she settled in Washington, D.C., and began writing letters, articles, and pamphlets in support of the Union. Carroll outlined a constitutional theory under which the secession of Southern states and the formation of the Confederacy were legal nullities.
Note: Anna was educated and trained by her father to be his aide.
